REEL Seminar-Training 2 (Hands-on)

Feedback to Seminar-Training 1

A two-day training on December 13-14, 2024, was organized by the Mathematics Department Extension Committee in response to the demand of the participants of the September 2024 REEL (Researchers and Educators' Enhancement and Literacy) Seminar-Training. The four topics introduced last September 20-21 were the overview and basics of the LaTeX document preparation system, Python Programming, open-source Statistical software, and Research and Statistics. The discussion was more of appreciation of the topic by the participants of the partner institution, MIT, Inc. - Marawi. The feedback and evaluation made by the participants of the seminar-training resulted to the planning of the hands-on training as the community demanded it thus the second seminar-training for the REEL Extension Project came about.

Recommendation by Accreditation Team

The planning of the two-day hands-on seminar-training was strengthened more due to the visit of the AACCUP Accreditation Team in November 2024. The support of the MSU through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development (OVCRED) and the University Extension Service Center (UESC) is evident and documented as noted in the remarks of the Accreditation Team. There has been a recommendation since the Level 1 visit that the stakeholders be involved in the planning and implementation of extension projects and activities of the department which led to a meeting with the stakeholders on November 29, 2024.
