MDEC Meeting (September 2024)

Discussions:

1. The total units assigned to the committee members including the extension units are as follows: Abdulcarim 21.0, Japar 21.1, Madid 19, and Malines 18.0.

2. It was agreed that the schedule of meeting will be on a Friday afternoon.

3. The Mathematics Department may proceed with the REEL training with the ethical clearance and Memorandum of Agreement to follow.

4. A new CNSM Extension Coordinator is assigned to wait for the release of the Special Order from the Office of the President.

5. The website for the Mathematics Department Extension shall be https://mathdepartmentextension.blogspot.com. All committee members are invited to be authors on the website. 

6. The yearly Statistical consultation free clinic of the department every Science Week celebration is not considered an extension activity as it caters to the MSU constituents. It can be categorized as Mathematics department academic activity in the Science Week of CNSM.

7. A new extension project can be proposed for the year 2025. 

8. To confirm the final speakers for the REEL training.

9. A proposed schedule of two (separate) days of training for the partner school with two speakers per day. Confirmation will be done after meeting with the contact in the partner school.

10. The result of the needs assessment survey was presented to the committee.

11. A tarpaulin shall be prepared for the REEL extension project.
