Culmination of the REEL Extension Project: A Legacy of Collaboration

On October 13, 2025, the Mathematics Department of Mindanao State University formally concluded its partnership with MIT-Marawi under the REEL (Researchers and Educators' Enhancement and Literacy) Extension Prject. This collaboration, initiated through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on October 23, 2024, was designed to enhance research competencies and promote software and statistical literacy among educators and students.

 Highlights of the Culmination Activity

A Research Methods and Statistics Seminar-Workshop served as the program’s final activity, equipping participants with practical tools and insights for academic inquiry and data analysis.

Faculty and students from MIT-Marawi actively participated, demonstrating the program’s success in fostering collaborative learning and capacity-building.

Although the formal partnership has ended, monitoring efforts remain ongoing to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of the initiatives introduced.

This milestone marks not just the conclusion of a formal agreement but the beginning of continued growth and shared learning. The knowledge exchange between institutions has enriched both sides and laid a strong foundation for future goodwill and cooperation.

Enduring Commitment Beyond the Agreement

The culmination activity also symbolizes the official closure of the partnership between MSU’s Mathematics Department and MIT-Marawi. Yet, the spirit of collaboration and mutual support will persist, as both institutions remain committed to nurturing academic ties beyond this formal conclusion.
